There is such a thing as reverse racism but its very rare and has to meet specific conditions, and the story in that article sure as shit does not.

Reverse racism
This term was created to imply that dominant groups could be the victims of racism. Racism includes having a certain power in society, power which non-dominant groups do not have. It is a term used consciously or unconsciously to blame and place non-dominant groups back in a targeted position. When dominant groups are discriminated against it is simply "discrimination."

Reverse-racism, if anything, would be fair and equal treatment of races.

That was my thought, racism is the treatment of any person based on race...reverse racism doesn't make any sense.

This article is about how employers are replacing higher paid Australian workers with temporary foreign workers who work for less and are less likely to complain about working conditions, etc. It's not about racism.

It is only the morons who are being replaced who are terming it racism.
Its not. It's just that imported "slaves" are more in demand than free workers..

This whole page is ruined by the 'description' of racism right above it.

Asking where someone is from is racism? Does it count if I ask someone of the same skin colour too? I do that all the time! "You're taking our jobs away" is only racism if you're talking about a race of people. Generally people are only referring to immigrants, and not natural born citizens, which makes it nationalist, not racist. "Racism doesn't exist" is not racist, it is ignorant of the facts.

British Columbia is failing from all angles recently!

That's not racism, that's insourcing. Isn't that familiar to you, if you're a CE/EE in the US? They are laying off and freezing hiring of American engineers in favor of 'guest worker' Indians.

Sea Moose - this is a running theme with you. I don't like to call people racist without getting to know them better but the more you blow this horn the more the term fits.

Fuck Australia, the country is turning into a Fascist State.

Australia and New Zealand have long been pretty damn far right. In recent years they have had a few more liberal governments but the overall trend has been damn far right.

A least quote it.

Racism
A set of mistaken assumptions, opinions, and actions resulting from the belief that one group of people categorized by colour or ancestry is inherently superior to another. Racism may be present in organizational and institutional policies, programs, and practices, as well as in the attitudes and behaviour of individuals.

I would like to take this opportunity to coin the term "sideway racism". It's when a person bashes his own race. The most obvious of all would be black people calling each other n---a.

It's true, I see it everyday.

So many foreigners, and so little assimilation. That's the problem, they all stick with each other instead of trying to become members of society and it creates little pockets of minorities that all get divided up instead of assimilating under one nation.

No such thing as reverse racism. A lot of you are the getting the definition for racism wrong as well.
