Revealed: New Chevy Cruze

The quality of the matierals is the big question. The Cobalt is such a piece of junk when you get in it.

Well if these are all coming with a turbo charged 4 banger, these will sell like hot cakes to the "tuner crowd"
I like the looks, but the wheels could use some work.

Is there a small car that you are impressed by? Did you read the part about the turbocharged, direct-injection 1.4 liter engine that should get 40mpg? That's pretty impressive with 2008 EPA ratings.

Yea I can already see kids on forums comlaining.. "They said they would not warrant it... how did they know i uped the boost and..."

But get a 2.2L motor and put that in with the turbo should make a cheap and fast sleeper.

Well I find it funny that so many bitch that the domestics are keeping with the same old stuff, but when they go to a smaller displacement engines and have proven a better reliability record than the imports as of late people still complain.
It seems like more people want the domestics to fail and don't care that they are changing and trying to adapt. It's almost like some people just don't like them because they are American.

I wonder why GM has to change the name?
Cobalt isn't a bad name yet like cavalier why just not release it as the next cobalt
Civic forever
Corrolla forever

Well I converted my wife. She went form a AWD Toyota Rav4 to a C5 Corvette 🙂
Corvette gets better gas milage as well.

I like it. It would be nice to have the diesel version though that they would sell in Europe. That MPG rating is pretty impressive though, but I suspect it may be slightly lower in reality.

I also hold out hope that we see the return of a 3-cylinder class by GM... it would probably sell like hotcakes this time around.

Is that a gasoline engine? That is impressive. The new EPA ratings are pretty damn harsh.

n/m, looks like its the diesel motor that gets that.

n/m again, article speaks of a 2.0 and a 1.4...but only says the 2.0 is a turbo diesel and then only mentions the 1.6 and 1.8 as gasoline?

The version pictured here has been designed for the European market and will be available with two petrol engines and one diesel engine upon its launch in March next year. The petrol engines measure 1.6 and 1.8L

its ok looking but i bet gm will find a way to screw it up like they did with the cobalt, but this car was engineered in korea so it probably had different designers.

There are several articles that have mentioned the 1.4 and its expected fuel economy. Here is the first I've found:
