Rev. Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church

Heckler 5th

i guess everybody's heard about these religious jerks who equate IED's with the figurative sword of God.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/02/21/funeral.motorcyclists.ap/index.html

freedom of speech has once again become a hot topic lately. pretty much every american supports it but, unfortunately, for it work, you can't be selective. for true free speech to exist, everyone has to have a say, even vile jerks like these. yes, their views are atrocious but, god willing, every state will do something ASAP to restrict their access to funerals.

feel free to leave your own little message for the godly fred phelps, his "church" and/or the Patriot Guard Riders (God bless 'em).

Where the hell is an IED when you really need one...plant it at the entrance to the church parking lot after they begin service. F'ing nutjobs! :disgust:

Kind of like Pat Robertson saying that Sharon's stroke was God's punishment for giving up the occupied territory. That's religious nuts for you. 🙂

That "church" is about 20 miles from my house. We have a saying around here that you'll find on lots of bumperstickers and such; Phuck Phred.

The guy's a fruitcake. Isn't the "Westboro Baptist Church" essentially just his house?

Pretty much. All of the members are more or less related as well.

Fred Phelps should die. We need someone to burn down his church with him and is sick followers locked in side.

I'm calling the FBI. I think we may have found the church burning suspect.

I am in California. Also I am sure the church burning suspects are theist.

Unsurprising a state ideology used to do just that, not surprising you would enjoy such a killing.

Anyways I am 99% sure Phelps is gay.

His theology doesn't even make sense. He is basically saying his God is weak and murderous hatemongerer that can only direct his will through the actions of muslim terrorists. Ironically, is that the same thing Al-quesadia is saying?
Is his God and Allah the same?

The ones that scream the loudest. Phelps<-->feltch???
I for one, would relish the chance to punch this idiot in the face. I would happily go to jail for that.

Looks like the asswipe and his troup are making a trip to Pennsylvania (in yet another "god blames f@gs for killing the troops" funeral disruption)

These assclowns were in Minneapolis last week protesting a fallen soldier here. A bunch of people showed up to drown them out. Wish I would have know about this. I would have shown up to drown them out as well.

Ever notice how Robertson's "God's wrath" commentary is glaringly absent when, for example, some little girl gets cancer or gets killed by a drunk driver?

As a christian, I would like to say obviously this is not a view of the average christian.
Most Christians are proud of thier troops and thier sacrafice.
This guy is so far off base , I don't even know where to begin.
We regularly offer recognition and prayers for military families in the church I attend.
So please don't let the media paint the picture for you that this is widely accepted.
A Man is judged by his own sins not the sins of another.

Robertson has been saying a lot of controversial things lately, I think he is just getting up there in years and needs to retire,
IMHO

Not a fan of phelps, but your kind of a dumbass if you actually go to their protest. They want your attention, their 7-year olds are working on their law degrees. You do anything out of legal bounds, and they'll sue the living sh1t out of you. That's just more money to support their cause.

I'm fairly certain that with a little thought, I could do something to them out of legal bounds that would not result in my getting sued. Not that I would, of course, but sometimes I wish someone would. Two wrongs don't make a right, and this IS a free speech issue after all, but I could certainly appreciate the karma.

Personally I'm surprised that something hasn't happened to those jokers already. I suppose gay people aren't the most militant bunch, but protesting at the funerals of dead soldiers has got to put them in rather close proximity to the type of people who might be more likely to do something...legally unwise.

Actually the Muslim God followed by Al-Queda is more accepting and tolerant than the one of the followrs of Fred Phelps! Basically when you actually take a careful look at their ideology, they actually believe that everyone not part of their church is going to hell. They take quite a bit of delight at this fact too.

Really, what are your ideas? They've got absolutely nothing to use as ammo if you don't show up to their protests.

They've got a right to free speech just as anyone else does, I know there are a bunch of government officials in multiple states that are attempting to "ban" protests of these sorts, I find that rather unconstitutional.

What's that one quote that's often attributed to Voltaire? I may not agree with what you say but I'll fight to the death to defend your right to say it.
