Hi!

My brother decided that he need's a new pc, so I'm helping him with his new build, he's not a hardcore gamer but he play games now and then.

PC:
i3-2100
P67A-UDP3-B3 (for future upgrade path)
2x2GB 1600Mhz RAM

my question is that Ihave a 4 year Old Corsair VX550 that im not using since I upgraded to the AX650, if iwont buy him a PSU now that money could go into the GPU, Iknow that corsair is a fine, dependable psu. but should I reuse it even if its 4 year old? it has a 5 year warrenty, can Iget 1 more year from it without having the fear that it might explode and take any hardware with it? or should I just by him a new PSU.

Help?

Just use it. Why would it explode in a year? The warranty ending does NOT mean it suddenly stops working. Your car probably had only a 3 year warranty and it still works, right?

Yeah, unless it fails, it should keep on working for a number of years. (Degrading slightly along the way.)
