Reuse or buy new?

I've got Samsung evos running in both my main desktops. This has left me with an Intel 510 120gb drive as a spare.

Now I'm ready to swap my media pc to a ssd finally for its OS drive. Will using the 510 be sufficient or should I be looking at something newer?

If just installing the OS on it, you will have plenty of space left. I'd say reuse it.

If it were me, I'd use it then.

You will have roughly 90-100 GB free after installing the OS, updates, and a few programs (depending on what OS).

As long as the SSD reports it's in good health under S.M.A.R.T., I'd just spend the money on another toy.

Especially in not a brand new machine, this SSD is a perfect reuse scenario.
