Returns to desktop?

Okay, I can boost my CPU up to 866, but when I run a game, it returns to desktop, this does not happen of course when I am running @ 700 or even 800. Is it my video card ? Cos if I run at 800 I have to 'underclock' my video card from 175 to 133 and 200(ram) to 133.
Weird?
any suggestions?
 
Oh okay, how exactly do I do that?
cos the PCI bus is running @ 31.00Mhz, 2 Mhz lower than it should, so I thought it was that. Hmm, so how do I do that? AGP divider?
