returning product to fry's with no receipt

I bought a fan for $14 from fry's on sunday and misplace receipt. I paid by credit card, can i still return it and have them do search by credit card on there computer?

While I was returning a product i purchased a few days earlier, I looked at their ad and noticed something i bought two weeks earlier was on sale. I asked the guy if he could give me the price difference but I didn't have the receipt for the item i bought two weeks earlier. He asked if i paid cash or credit card, i said credit card, he looked it up on his computer with my name and i saw all the info on his screen.

If I was able to do that with a price diff refund, I'm thinking you might be able to return somethign this way as long as you ask them nicely and aren't a dick about it.

Fry's won't take returns using credit card numbers, but if you call your credit card company you should be able to get a copy of the receipt.

it cost $5 to get receipt, Fan only cost $14 not worth the effort

yes, fries can look up using credit card number. if you are ever going to buy anything from fries, use a credit card! you wont need a receipt, since they look at all transactions based upon that credit card. if its an unpopular item, they can even look up all the transactions based upon that item. also, if you were to buy one of those cpu/mobo combos, they can check payment, since you have to go to the guy to get the cpu, and they also track both the cpu serial # (so if it does burn out < 1 year, they can keep track) or the serial# on the mobo. don't ever pay cash, unless you're good at keeping receipts (unlike that other guy in the BB + 9800 pro thread)

I don't know why everyone says you can't..I've done it a few times before with no problems whatsoever. I even once returned something paid with cash w/o a receipt.
