I purchased a print server to be used with a mac/windows based network

i got it working just dandy on the windows. but could not get it working on the mac.

on the etailers website it lists as supportnig mac osX , but on the companies website, and product it does not.

Now the etailer is a pretty reputable company, so i trust them almost 100%.

they do however have a 15% re-stocking fee on returned items. i would like to call them on this saying this item does not support my product even though it does on there website.

Basically. do any of you think that could fly with the company? i know it wouldnt be much. no more than 10 bux.
id lose that amount in shipping costs, when i shipped it back, unless the company comps me on that as well..

Ill list the company if someone would like me to. just didnt wanna come and blast the company

I think it depends on the company ....

What print server was it? Maybe there's a trick to get it working for OSX? Does it work for linux or FreeBSD?

Also, if the company is one of the bigger ones, like NewEgg, call their customer support and explain your case, they'll probably offer a refund or credit good towards a comparable product .... (and they really should cover the return shipping too since the product did not work as advertised)

It should only be proper that they offer a refund for incorrect sales data.

they have been peopel saying they got it working for osx.. i just cant seem too.

ive tried using the ip address manually, and some custom drivers, because the mac wont take the manu. drivers. im just not well versed in mac's. I got it working for my windows pc in a matter of minutes.

most likely they will take it back if you can prove the sales page was incorrect

example :Q

I do believe that the item will make the area it is used on both clean and better smelling. So technically it is a correct listing.

Good deal too!

Sounds like a PEBKAC error.

If they insist on the restocking fee, I think a chargeback is warranted based on the inaccurate product description.

 I did suggest a chargeback because it's ultimately Newegg's fault if they have an inaccurate description (though it does say 10.3 or 10.4, but you'd think it'd work with 10.5 too). Newegg has great customer service though, I wouldn't be surprised if they waive the restocking fee.

Have you gotten this printer to work while connected directly to your Mac?
