Returning 360.. Not original owner?

What is needed to return a xbox 360? I received one in a trade a few months ago. Now it died.
And yes I am lazy. I can't google.
 
Just call MS support. Because of the blanket 3 year warranty for the RROD, they're very lax when it comes to confirming you are the original purchaser. All they're likely to ask for is the serial number and manufacturing date if that.
 
Nooooo - don't call.

Go to the xbox website - go to support - enter your serial number and register it - request an in-warranty repair - get a box mailed to you in a few days - ship it back and learn a foreign language while you wait for the fixed console to arrive.

Yep, I have sent two back.. One even before the 3 yr warranty came about.. Seems like so many fail, they dont have time to track ownership etc..

Although I have sent our wii back 3 times, and they never checked either.

Seems like a good thing if this becomes a trend.. Definatly less hassle that dealing with PC component vendors.

First return was the wiiconnect deal where it overheats and frys the video chip.. green blotches etc on the screen. They swapped the console out for a refurb
Second return was the refurb I got back just flat out died, would not turn on after a week. They swapped this one out with another refurb.
Third time, disc drive died during xmas break. This time they just swapped the drive out.
