Ever since this new virus came out, I have been getting emails "returned" to me, but I have not sent them. I think AVG would have detected it if I was infected, so I guess some spammer is spoofing my email address. Does this sound right?

This happened to me too, for about ten days, but they weren't sent by me, It was strange I figured it was a comcast thing, since my NAV is current and I don't open strange attachments. It's has stopped now though hmm...

Yep, I have received 10 so far today.

I check my e-mail using PINE not Oulook/Eudora, just delete, delete, delete, my D key is getting worn out.

its because the send email is being spoofed so the receiving server thinks it you when it responds with you might have a virus.

My email address is seriously being spoofed. I get at least 50-100 returned messages a day that I never sent. I have scanned my HD with NAV. What I did is I set up rules in Outlook so 99% of them go straight into the trash.

Edit: I'm glad I'm not the only one this is happening to.

One of my email accounts has received close to 2000 virus-related emails since this started, at least a third of which are of the "you are infected" variety. Imagine how much bandwidth could be used for more productive things (like downloading pr0n!) if all these server admins would just turn off that stupid message.
