yes multiplayer only. it was originally a expansion pack that got scrapped an the developers decided to release the multiplayer part fro free.

it's decently fun but very frustrating since all the people that still play are really into it and a noob starting out will get murdered many times over. I was something horrible my first few times playing.

Yep, multi only. Depending on what server you connect to, you'll get your ass handed to you. I play frequently on DrunkenSoldiers - XP save server. The majority of time things are nicely balanced and there are quite a few good players on there along with noobs. Definitely check it out.

I personally think the XP component is retarded and has no place in an FPS, although the rest of it was pretty solid and fun. RtCW multiplayer has more spit and polish IMO.

Personally I played the game for a long time and it is definately a good game. I didnt mind the xp component or any of that stuff.

yeah it was going to be the expansion, but they canceled it
instead the released it for free, a very good game!!!

Indeed only multiplayer. If you start out, prepare to be frustrated. After playing a few months I am doing quite fine and its a lot of fun. Best is if you join a clan and play on their servers is you find idiots TKing with artillery and medics not reviving a bit annoying.

With most established games it's hard for noobs, ET is nothing special in that regard.
