I'm trying to return or get an Albatron 7800GTX repaired or returned. Bought it 2/16/06 so 1 year warranty under Albatron is free labor and parts. First I tried to do a RMA through newegg since it was still eligible for RMA for defective/failure. I called them up though and they said they won't do the return without the original box (that's been lost in several moves). When I first talked to Newegg the customer rep gave me Albatron's phone # to follow up their. Then he said if I can't get it cleared up there give me a call back and they will try to work something out with me.

So I called Albatron and the only people you can speak to are Sales reps or accounting dept! Err, so I head over to their usa page www.albatronusa.com and fill out their crappy html rma page and wait for a response. No response, I send another email to their tech dept. asking if their usa rma page is still valid and what I need to do to get a repair done and making sure I can ship it back to them without the original box. RMA inquiry was sent 2 weeks ago, tech support email about 4 days ago (in terms of business days).

So I called Newegg and tried to explain what the other rep said but I got cut off (go cingular) from one lady I talked to and didn't feel like waiting again in the queue.

What are my chances of getting this cleared up before I hit my 1 year ownership of the card? or what other recourses can I use to get this fixed anyone know?

Wow, makes me glad I saved all my boxes! Now I can get my wife off my back and show her my good reason to keep them in the basement. :)

I just started my RMA process w/ Asus for my motherboard. It took them a few days between emails before I got an RMA number. I think you shouldn't stop emailing any and all email addresses listed on their contact site, even if you just copy & paste the same message. I would also call back and tell anyone on the phone that your emails aren't being answered. Who knows, it could just be extra busy w/ the holiday returns.

Good luck, hope it turns out well in the end.

Man, I can tell you Albatron's RMA process is suck. I RMA'd a mobo to them and it took like 3 months to get the replacement. After a LOT of effort, I obtained a direct phone number to their RMA dept. I must have called them 10 times! Good Luck!

A lil' update: After 3 weeks of being put off by the Manufacturer (Albatron) Newegg was able to contact them and inquire into the issue and they got me a personalized e-mail from Albatron with an RMA number and shipping instructions and luckily I can do it without retail box. Another reason to shop through Newegg. A few dollars can be saved else where but with the Customer Support from Newegg it can't be beat !
