should i keep it or buy 4850? or possible 4870?

im in canada so cheapest 4850 with dual slot cooling is costing me 180
and 4870 is 280.

Why?

Is your performance bad? If you can game on or near max settings at your resolution just leave it alone unless you want to upgrade monitors.

Why would you return a card you haven't even tried yet? For $99 it could be just right for your gaming, but you won't know until you've given it a go.

Remember this: an 8800GT equals the higher priced 4850. If you have an SLI mobo get another 8800GT which will be faster than a single GTX 280! The 4850 shines only when using 8x AA at higher resolution like 1600x1200.:)

NO. A 4850 is faster hands down than an 8800 GT. Now, the difference is not so important, that is why I'd suggest OP to keep his GT, especially if he is gaming at such a low resolution. I remember that even Stalker Clear Sky worked good at 1440X900 on highest settings on an 8800 GT, so I don't see why he should return it.

Keep the 8800GT. I'm almost certain you won't see much of a difference going to either on 1440x900.
