Damn I'm really torn right now.

The return window for my newly bought 11" MBA is 14 days which is next Wednesday.

If the rumors hold true, the new MBP's come out the very next day, the 15th day! Son of a...

The rumors are saying they'll be lighter, cheaper and faster and use the new liquid metal process. Rumors are stating the 13" would have a 12 hour batter life!

I'm not stuck on having an Air, I only got it since the intention is to use it around the house mostly. I already have a current gen 13" MBP for work and it's a great machine but weighs a lot for its size and has outdated CPU, same as the MBA.

What would you do? What should I do? Dammit this sucks! 🙁

😛

And then when you get the MBP the MBA will get refreshed and you'll want to upgrade to that...

Stick with the MBA! You already have a MBP! And it's not going to be more portable than a 11" MBA so for 'around the house' it will be a downgrade.

Whatever you do, make up your mind before you order it so you don't have to return a third perfectly good laptop.

I know that every rumor about an Apple product that I've heard in the past has been true.

I research the hell out of everything before I buy it.

When I'm dropping $1,200+ on something and a week later rumors of something else that is coming out that is possibly better for the same/similar money, that's just something I can't account for in doing research.

I've added money to my "computer" fund in small increments for literally years before buying this MBA. It's never been a high priority for a purchase but it's something I've been very slowly working towards. That said, I don't want any regrets with this hard earned money.

You'll always regret with your tech purchase.

In any case, if you really believe the next big thing is going to be... all that big, then by all means, just sell your old one and be done with it.

If you think the old one works just fine without any issue and it meets all of your needs and use cases, then there is no need for you to switch.

hay man the ipad2 is coming out in april , the ipad3 with retina in november. which should i buy? should i buy the ipad2 cause i need the camera for sure then return it and wait for the ipad3 to come out ?

in your situation, i'd give it back, see how the mbp refresh pans out, and decide then. you're right at the cusp between purchases, and even if you return, you can decide to rebuy the mba if you decide the mbp wasn't what you expected.
