Retro City Rampage

It's finally out, after ~10 years in development. And it's on Steam.

Anyone picked it up yet? Thoughts?

I actually did get this later on and it's one of the most outrageous games I've played in a while. There seems to be a new pop culture reference every 10 seconds! Bill 'N' Ted, Back to the Future, Saved by the Bell, Robocop, Bionic Commando, Metal Gear Solid, Skate or Die... the list goes on and on.

Gameplay is old-school fun so far, and there are some engaging challenges. There are also a bunch of neat arcade machines to play, such as an RCR version of Bit Trip Runner, and Epic Meal Time!

I was also gobsmacked at the amount of visual options you have available to you, there are multiple filters, cabinet/TV types and so forth.

My only possible gripe so far is that I think the characters could have been a little larger, or slightly more defined. Otherwise, the art style is great.

At first glance (just reading the thread's title fast) I really thought of Midway Game's Rampage.

The 80s style retro commercial/trailer on Steam is pretty awesome.
