retrive data from laptop hard drive

hi all,


my laptop broke and I need to get my data from the harddrive. I bought an USB enclosure for the laptop harddrive. When I plugged it into my pc it all worked fine, but when I try to access (copy, etc) the "my documents" folder it says that I dont have access. This is probably because i have a windoes password set on my laptop harddrive I would imagine. Anyway, I important data on there .. Is there a way to get this data?

Go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View -> (right down the bottom) tick off "Use Simple File Sharing

Right-click the folder you want to access, -> Security -> Advanced -> Owner -> Choose user -> Replace owner on sub containers and objects (tick) -> OK -> OK.
