Retrieving Lost CD-KEY from Windows 98???

Is this possible? I used the CD-KEY to installed it 4 years ago but then I have since misplaced the CD (with the cd-key). I want to keep the computer legit and is there some way that I can retrieve the CD-KEY from the installed Windows 98 either by searching the registry or using some sort of software? I want to do a format because the computer is too slow. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
 
Run regedit, then:
Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Click on SOFTWARE
Click on MICROSOFT
Click on windows
Click on CurrentVersion
On the right frame, scroll to find the entry " ProductKey "
