OK, here's the story. I have a small 2 computer network between my main system and an HTPC. I've purchased music from Musicmatch on my main system, but have also played it through my receiver using my HTPC. Musicmatch's DRM allows 5 computers to be active to play files.
Recently, the hard drive in my HTPC died. It was bad enough that Maxtor tools says it needs to be RMA'd (it's out of warranty of course), but not bad enough that I can't pull some files off of it if I'm patient enough. I've since installed a new HD and fresh install on my HTPC.
Here's my question, is there anyplace these license keys are stored that I can pull off and copy to my new install? As it stands now, Musicamatch says I have 2 computers activated (my main system and my old HTPC install), and in order to deactivate the old HTPC install, I need to login with that old system. That's not possible since the the old hard drive won't boot.
Other than trying to copy the license keys from the corrupted hard drive, I would need to call Musicmatch and have them deactivate the computer, which I suppose isn't a big deal, but I'm kind of curious to see if it's possible to copy the old keys.
Thanks.
