Retrieving a Win95 CD key

A few days ago I posted a thread in which I asked what would be the best way to retrieve the files off an old P1 Presario, as I'm giving it away to a kid. Most people suggested I simply connect the HD into my other PC, which I did and worked great.

Now, I want to reformat the PC and do a clean install of Win95, which in turn comes within a rescue disk that came with the Presario. Problem is, I lost the CD key, probably years ago, and I don't really feel like turning my house upside down looking for it.

Is there a way of 'retrieving' the Key from the installed Windows (I haven't formatted yet) so I can re-install it after formatting the HDD? And if not, is there any other viable solution?

In fact, there is a way of finding the cd key of the windows you are currently running. Go to google and get a program called Everest Home Edition. Install the program and open it. On the left side go to ?Operating System? Click the "Operating Sytem" icon, and the product key should be listed there.
