is there any way to retrieve a document that u typed up and didnt' get a chance to save before it closed? this is microsoft works. thanks.

i dont think so..

try file and see what documents come up

it usually has documents that's recently been accessed.

I lost a 10 pages of notes that way and had to spend 2 hours typing it back up over

Go to a child pr0n site and register. The government will retrieve your document for you.

Actually, try your temp folders, a copy might be in one of them.

Do a search for a .doc (or whatever format the document was) on your hard drive. Maybe it will turn up, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. Sorry.

How did it get closed? did you close it after it asked you if you wanted to save the file(and did you choose no)? Cause if you didn't choose no then it should come back up when you reboot, at least thats what it does on my comp.

Doesn't it do it when the program performs an illegal operation or something?

mine happened during a storm, when I had a power outage for like 3 min

unfortunately i'm not familiar with ms works, but their may be hope.

for word, for example, by default, autosave is on, it saves every 5 mins by default.

i think it saves temp files with the extension ".bak"

try searching for that maybe.

try searching for that maybe.

If you close the window and say NO to saving, they'll delete the temp files.
