Retreiving an XBOX live account

Is it even possible?
A friend lent me his xbox for a week or two.
I have already paid for the year, before my own xbox crapped out.
I fail to see any options that would allow you to access an account that isnt already saved onto the drive or a memory card...

Thoughts?
 
What if they card it was registered under is no longer in my possesion? 🙁

I've written cust support a couple times and cant seem to get a reply
