Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a wall outlet with pull-out Ethernet cable built in? I'm pretty sure I've seen this in hotels before. We have wall outlets all over the house and I don't want to carry a cable around with me all the time or leave them plugged in all over the place.
Thanks

You want a retractable ethernet cable, not an outlet itself. Anything retractable like that will be prone to breaking... you don't want to have to install a new outlet every time it does.

Take your pick.

Yeah, really not a good idea, if you must, then expect to replace it often. Do not have it build into the wall, have an outlet there, and as the poster above says have a retractable cable you can just unsnap, toss, and buy new one, to replace as needed.

It may look cool, but so did nose ring to ear ring chains about 2 decades ago.

Just a note: Generally, the retractable cables suck, at least if they're the small portable flat ones. I've not been able to get Gigabit out of them. 100 Mbps works fine though.

Themomento, just curious if you ever found a viable solution? I'm looking for a similar item to mount in a conference room table, but haven't been able to find a good option. If you found something could you please share? Thanks.
