Retiring from Kansas to east coast?

Where would be a good place for my parents to retire in the east coast? Kansas is nice and all, but I'd like them to live a little bit closer.

Their retirement money will go a lot further if they stay far away from both coasts but if they are absolutely set on the east coast then I would say from Richmond, VA south to Stuart, Florida would be the cheaper areas.
 
You're deciding where your parents should live when they retire? 😕

I think the Carolinas are nice and not too expensive.
