Retention bracket for Scythe Infinity

I have a Scythe Infinity and one of the push pins (I hate them, they suck!) isn't holding its end of the bargain. Just running stock till I either fix it or get another cooler. I saw THIS retention bracket and was wondering if you guys have any experience with it or know if it will work. Thanks in advance 🙂

From the looks of it, it only works for Socket 478 mobos and may or may not apply in your situation?

can you cut the pushpins out? or remove them and use this instead?

You dont use the top plate, instead you use the screws and backplate though the hole where the pushpins were.
