Retailer ordering/pricing problem

I placed an online order for an Optima battery from www.ok4wd.com. I paid with a CC, and got email confirmation. A couple days later they emailed and said they don't have it in stock but could try to get one and asked if I wanted to wait or cancel. I chose to wait.

Few days later after not hearing from them I email them, and they say they don't think they can get any more from their supplier (or something...don't have the email with me right now). They say they can order one but it wouldn't be at the price of what I ordered it at, and would be about $50 more or so (can't remember exact price) since it was a special price they were having at one time (pretty sure he even admitted it should have been removed from the website when I ordered). I told them I ordered at x price and so that's all I should have to pay. He said OK and he'd try to get one. Also I noticed that battery model/price is now removed from their website. Week or two later I contact them and they say they again say they can't get it anymore from their supplier can't sell me at x price I ordered at and would have to charge the extra to order one. I mentioned they already charged my credit card, so he said they'd credit it back.
I filed a merchant dispute with my CC (Citi) and asked them if they can help me get the the item at the price I ordered it at, but they said all they can handle is getting the credit back.
Is there anything else I can do?

Just get your money back, and move on. How much did you pay for the battery..and which one was it? red top, yellow top?

What I at least want to do at this point is file a complaint with someone. BBB? Who else?

Just move on. It sounds like an honest mistake, and they tried to get you the battery for that cost. I don't know why they charged you before it shipped, but if they credit you, no harm done.

Eesh, what did you expect? Them to get down and lick your boots?

They informed you shortly after finding out they were out of stock, it's not like they led you on or just never processed the order. Really, that first email saying they were out of stock should have been a clue. After giving up waiting for them and finding out that their supplier is out, you REALLY should have done the smart thing and asked for the money back then and there. Letting it hang on the hope that they might be able to get one from elsewhere, especially when he told you that it would cost $50 extra, was just stupid. You're a one-time order to them, they're not going to go out of their way to find the thing at a bargin price. Really, you were lucky they even found it elsewhere at all, considering they took it off their site.

Unless you don't get your money back, frankly I don't see what you're complaining about. The worst thing you lost was time. Heck, for most online businesses billing is automatic and their systems often isn't complex enough to be able to verify that an item is still in stock. Like Jzero said, it was an honest mistake and you should just move on.

Most companies that make mistakes like this will go ahead and sell you the item at the price you bought it for. And lots of people get angry when a company charges your CC w/out the item in stock or before the item ships.

Thanks for your opinions but I wasn't asking whether I should do anything or not.
