Option 2:

Widows Vista Premium for System Builders (which also comes with a widows7 upgrade coupon)
$110
Newegg offers i guess a OEM version without the support from Microsoft? Im a little unsure and should prob read the licensing agreement.

Im very much undecided. tbh i dont really have a question other than, of those 2 options which would you choose and why and if there is a 3 option not listed please let me know.

thanks in advance.

You could always pre-order Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade. Right now it's discounted down to around $50.

If you were in need of the operating system right away, you just just get the Windows 7 Release Candidate. It's free and works until June 2010.

The only problems with upgrading from XP to 7 are that it's not an upgrade, it's just backing up your files and doing a clean install, and I'm not sure that buying the upgrade version works or if you'd have to spring for the full version.

That's a possible 3rd option, at least. Worth considering.

strong 3rd option. cause the fresh reinstall, while a huge pain, isnt a big deal. beta expires 2010 and 7 is supposed to come out end of this year right? once 7 is released, could i upgrade from the beta? or would i have to fresh reinstall from my retail xp pro then upgrade to 7?

I recommend the Pre-Order Windows 7 Professional for $100.

If you load the Win7 RC, you'll have to do a clean install because RC is "Ultimate" version. You can't do an in-place "upgrade" from W7 Ultimate to W7 Professional. The only possible way to do an in-place upgrade from W7 RC would be to buy the W7 Ultimate Retail Upgrade package for $220 when it's released in October.

but if u go with the system builder oem vista ultimate u also get a coupon to update to widows 7 ultimate right?

so for the same price of ~100 buck:

vista ultimate oem + 7 ultimate coupon
VS
7 RC ultimate + 7 professional retail upgrade (which would require reinstall)

so with option 1 i would have to fresh reinstall 7 RC but would not have to on release

with option 2 would have to fresh reinstall 2?

thanks for all the feedback guys, all help is greatly appreciated

I personally went with Vista Ultimate OEM for the 7 ultimate coupon.

I would always fresh install personally, just back up your files.
