Retail salaries?

I'm applying for a job at a camera store and part of the application is what I'm expected to get paid. All my prior work experience has been doing systems admin type work and photography, so I have no idea what normal pay is for someone working retail.

I'm thinking about putting down about $8 an hour...good? bad? Should I put more than I expect to get...any input is appreciated.

$8 an hour isn't too bad to ask for. I'd say just leave it at that.

If it's a big chain and not a manager position the $8 might actually be on the high side, but let them determine that.
