How reliable is it to use the heatsink that come with retail CPU? Is it going to be able to cool down Thunderbird 1 Ghz ?

Retail AMD HSF will do for normal use up to light overclocking. AMD wouldn't let it out the door with out an "approved" HSF. However if your going to try for 1200, and up the voltage a bunch I'd locate a new one.

yo, Maverick2002 the retail heatsink from AMD are not the Taisol CGK742092, they come with the 733 series. the CGK742092 is Taisol's top of the line heatsink is make from forged aluminmum.
