Might have to get one for that price - but where are the reviews? I wonder if half the cache will turn it into a Celathon?

No - if it were a Durathon, it would perform reasonably well in comparison to its parent chip . . .

True enough, and maybe this one will. ;) I was just saying Durathon would be correct AMD name if you went with the quoted posts' assumption, not the Celathon as the Celeron is Intel.

So, I pay $130 more for a Barton that I can't overclock? ;)

(oh yeah, with integrated memory controller and SSE2)

I'd kill for a Socket 754 board with a PCI/AGP lock.

Think I'll wait and see what happens with Socket 939, since the 754's will be the new Durons anyhow.

I overclocked A64 3200+ to 2.3 GHz. This one must be able to do the same. At 2.3 GHz it is about 7% faster than Barton at 2.35 GHz. I have that one and was able to compare. So there is an edge but not by much.

and this also at newegg but for $404 ?

they both have the same specs but the second link was via "shop by category".
