Retail 1150 cooler work on 1155?

Just like the title says, will an Intel retail 1150 cooler work on an 1155 combo?

I have a couple just lying round and a couple that might be mixed up.... don't want to damage anything!

Generally speaking, yes. 1150, 1155, and 1156 have the same size mounting holes. The CPUs aren't the same size , but for the most part all coolers work interchangeably. I know I used the H100i for both ivy and haswell just fine, I think you should be okay.

I may be having a stroke, but I'm pretty sure the Socket 775 coolers work too.

I might have just been confused by an aftermarket HSF with adjustable mounting holes. Dunno. It's Friday night.

That 1150 heatsink from a 4771k worked perfectly on this 1155 i7-2600(non-K) and keeps 'er nice and cool! Utterly silent as well.
