Resume writing

Its been 7 years since I last wrote my resume.

What do I need to focus on, more experience related or accomplishments ?

I started of in Sys/Network admin and transition into CTO (past 2 years).

Just experience along can fill up the whole page.. should I stay within 1 page or use 2 ?

You want to show both experience and accomplishments.

May want to consider using a chronological type resume.

The shorter the better, and just use the key facts. Focus on what you did, then impact for each thing.

For an IT profession, use 2 pages.

i would reccomend 1 page if you can make it all sound great. There is no point in bogging it down with the less appealing stuff. If you have one page crammed with good stuff, the interviewer will be interested in hearing more. Only go more if it doesn't sound good at 1.

I know there is a lot of debate about this, but I never put an "Objective" on a resume. Regardless of what your "Objective" is, its always the same - to get a job. All Objectives say the exact same thing, just worded a little different, which is "I want a job".

Personally, I put Qualifications at the very top of the resume, starting with the highest level of work experience first.

Qualifications:
Fourteen years experience fabrication of ASME certified heat exchangers and pressure vessels. Twelve years experience certified welder. And so on,,,,,,,,,,,.

That way, when the person sees your resume, your experience is easy to find.
