I have been looking for a new job and I just can't seem to get anyone to call back. I am thinking it may be my resume, but I have no idea how to make it sound better. A lot of people have told me I am top notch, but I can't seem to transfer that to the resume.

Has anyone used a resume writing service, and if so, did it help? I have seen several online, but don't know which one to pick or how much it should cost.

Edit: I have uploaded my resume, it can be accessed HERE

Hey huberm, why don't you post your resume and let us see what's going on?

I had my resume checked when I was in undergrad by an engineering career center and they gave me a thumbs up. I've been using the same format for about ten years now and seem to have decent luck with it. It's just gotten longer and more involved.

If it was that simple, why wouldn't he just go to Borders or Banes & Noble tonight and look at the dozens of books with sample resumes in them?

In fact, he could probably dig them up on the Web, right?

I suspect it's not just format...

I know I would be def. needing one in a few weeks. I don't have the time to sit and clean up my resume, and polish it. If you think you can do the job, PM me and I'll send you all the information possible. :D

Ok, you can view my resume here: Text

I think one big problem is my job title. It is obscure and most don't know about it, and its completely unrelated to what I'm trying to get into (sys admin). I am the system administrator there, and spend about half my time on that, but that isn't my job title.

I also have no idea how to relate my military experience to a civilian resume.

Thanks!
