resume question [please vote]

I worked for Walmart in highschool for almost 3 years in the Electronics dept. Since I started College, I have had a fulltime internship in the IT dept of a large company. I have been there for over 3 years doing IT hardware support / data backup / anything computer related...

On my resume, under "Professional Experience" (work history), should I put Walmart in there? It basically just takes up room. My current job takes up a lot of room (explaining all my responsibilities and skills)

My father told me to leave it there because it shows that I have good work ethic (worked there for 3 years through high school). I think it looks juvenile and makes it look like I consider Walmart a "professional job".

What do you think?

I would. It shows consistency and longetivity of your work history.

I would also sweeten the details during the interview regarding what u did @ walmart.

go for it!

I would, shows you didn't work there for a few weeks and quit, also shows you did work earlier on even though it may not have been very highly regarded of.

wal-mart is the largest employer in the United States, there is nothing to be embarrased about, put it on there

It was a fun job... If I ever win the lottery, I will probably work there just to do something 😀

alright, I'll ask for further clarification...

what type of job are you seeking?

if it has something to do with your second job and nothing to do with the walmart job, then don't put it on there. only put relevent job references.

however if you are seeking any job you can get, I'd put it down.

That's what I figured. I mean, what does Wal-Mart have to do with IT / Web developement.
