So I'm typing up my resume and I want to know what I can put down as a heading so I can list my skills.

Thanks.

I have:

Objective
Education
Experience
References (available upon request)

I'd like to add something where I can tell them that I am knowledeable with Microsfoft Windows, HTML, etc.

Thanks.

So for education, I'm currently enrolled at a comm college and I've earned like 20 credits total. What would I put down? I've been going off and on and sometimes I've missed a semester.

Also, in MS word, how do I insert a line break? Like a line that goes across the entire page like this:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The best format to follow is the one that makes you look the best. Generic formats are tiresome.

For schooling, you would put the school, degree you will achieve and the date of achievement.

So say that I want to break into the technology sector, right... I know it's hard to get into right now and the jobs are scarce. Monster.com says if you have no experience to volunteer. Right now volunteering is not an option. But anywas on to my question, what would I put down on my resume if all my skills include retaili work?

Convince them to hire you. Isn't that the whole point? Get some recommendations from your boss or something like that. Write an essay why they should hire you.

Your only JOB skills are retail work, or the only thing you know about IT is from retail work?

If your only job experience is retail, then make sure you put work experience last. Wow them, make them want you so bad that when they read it, they don't give a crap.

Maybe you should take out Word in your list of "knowledgeable" items? :)

To make a Line Break, I usually go to Insert->Picture->Autoshapes. It lets me draw my own line and set my own length.

For school write like this, since you only have like 2 semeseters work:

Harford Community College 1/3/2000 - Now
Associate Degree in Economics 2/3/2003

Just write down the date you expect to complete your degree. If you don't have a date, just write one anyways
