Resume from sleep problem with W-7

I have an 890GX chipset Asus board that hard locks whenever it goes into sleep mode, the only way to wake it is to turn off the PSU and drain the residual power, then press the start button, then it goes to the log on screen.

The board is an M4A89GTD Pro/USB3

This only happend with winders 7, I had Vista ultimate on it and it worked fine.

I have S3 set in the bios (auto did the same).

The system sleep works fine after a fresh install and it is after I start updating windows that it starts to lock up.

I was running a 790FX Asus board with the same OS and it worked fine, but this board has me ready to take it to the range and blast away at it.

Any ideas before I lock and load?

I would personally disable it from going to sleep in the Power Options mode. I never liked it since it powers down everything and I have had problems with clients computers that you are experiencing. Just my 2 cents.

Same issue here at my work. No matter what we did the client would not come out of sleep mode unless it was hard booted. The only fix we have now is the "power settings" options. My Client Engineering group is currently working on a fix.

I will post any updates I receive.

I agree. Changing your power management settings might help. Have you tried using hibernate instead of sleep and see if your machine continues to have these issues?

I changed them multiple times, didn't help.

Now it seems to be working fine, except every once in a while it will wake itself up for the time limit I have set in p m, and then go back to sleep ????
