Resume Distribution Companies?!?!

I'm want to move to my Promise Land, South Florida, and I recently tried a resume distribution company, Resume Zapper to "zap" or "blast" my resume to thousands of recruiters in my field.

I've seen many advertisements for this site and I finally gave them a try. The cost was $49 and I have to say, the result sucks.

I'm not blamming the company at all, they did what they were suppose to. However, I'm disappointed in the concept as a whole because I didn't get much of a response how the company advertised I would.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I'm not surprised it sucks. If a company knows that you did this chances are the resume will get thrown in the recycle bin instantly.

I had called given them a call and asked them how it works. Apparently, recruiters sign up with them, not the other way around.

Oh well, you live and learn...

Yeah, don't trust those types of services, your best bet is to check all the major job sites and manually send resumes out to potential job positions...with personalized cover emails. Yes its tedious but I think you might get better results...unless your resume is the bomb :)
