It is much harder to read a resume if it isn't formatted. Fiormatting matters a lot for a resume. Upload a doc, or whatever format you are using, of it formatted nicely and then get back to us.

i agree

however, on a lot of company's websites these days they only allow you to use a plain text resume (no upload option)..i assume that this is to prevent viruses from spreading, but it makes my resume look bad..likewise I've had no success with a company I put a text resume on their website..what do you do for this?

You need to show how you improved the company you work for. Ex: Reducing down time by 90%, analyzed network operations/procedures and reduced wasted processes, etc.

I wouldn't put much for your education, just dates attended. Elaborate more on your experience.

First...sell yourself with the opening statement. You don't have one, you don't describe what you want to do or are capable of.

Second...stop with the "roles", focus on accomplishments. You had to have accomplished something in 6.5 years. These are your bullet points.

Third, have you gotten the help I suggested? C'mon dude, you are selling something.....yourself. Do you want to buy a car whose brochure says "I'm car, I can transport you." Catch my drift?

Then freakin' embelish a little. Think of one suggestion you made that was then put into place. Take credit for it. It's your idea. Think of ways that you made thinks easier for the business.

can't embellish on nothing. my boss doesn't listen to my suggestions, let alone actually implement one.

the only real difference is the spacing between the dates and companies/schools. there's a much wider gap and its not in italics. the font is times new roman, 12 pt i believe

So focus specifically on how you lifted others with measurable verbage.

"- Developed and performed training and instructional guides used by co-workers troubleshoot and solve problems "

Expand on that. You're than man dog. I can't instill confidence in you.

"moved X process to Y process by performing class based training to other technitians resulting in an average turn around on Z problems from X minutes to Y minutes. Mentored other technitians in a leadership role to reduce turn around time from Z to Y. Advanced my position to X and through this training promoted 3 techs to be promoted to Y."

Catch my drift?

You ned to clean up and formalize your education section. It sounds to much like your tlaking on the phone.

It's good to have education on there as it shows you are interested in learning more.

Ever consider a Bachelors degree? It will limit the places you can work if you don't.

Unfortunately yes. I try. He won't listen.

no, i'm not
wtf do you want me to listen to or say? i told you already that i haven't done anything at this company to help it. i fvcking unjam printers or clear a print que or replace a keyboard.
my boss does not involve me in anything important. i rarely even see or talk to him. i rarely know where he is.

i'm just the guy that sits at his desk waiting for someone to call with a broken printer. in fact, what i typed IS EMBELLISHED. managing servers = adding a user here and there or giving them access to a folder.

I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING THAT I COULD EVEN EMBELLISH ON.
i ahven't increased productivity by 10%. I have saved the company $50,000. i don't know what else to tell you about this job to make you understand that i am NOTHING there. i mean, fvck, no one even tells me when we have off or get to leave early. its like i'm not even fvcking there.

whats there to expand on? i don't have any data that proves my training made anyone work better. at that job, probably not because most of the people were morons.

i don't have any statistics about anything. thats what i did. i can't expand on it any further.

Pontiflex, I'm not trying to slam. I keep trying to help you.

What 3 things have you done to improve your situation/job? None?

Make a list, get it done. Quite honestly you need to see a doctor if you are to be helped. So make an appointment and do something about it. Otherwise you will continually self-sabotage.

I know it's hard dude. I've been there myself. Do something. Everything you post reaks of major depression and you certainly can't fix it on your own. I know...it sucks. Do something.

the onyl thing that is going to fix the situation is money. money to go to school and money so i don't have to work while going to school. and that isn't going to happen.

Have you ever tried a lateral move within your company?

How about a relocation somewhere south?

my company is a small, little factory. there's nowhere else to go except into the factory doing welding or bending metal sheets, which i have no interest in. there is nothing that would be a lateral move.

how do i relocate without a job? if you mean relocate to another facility somewhere else, there is none. the building i work in is it. i can't afford not to work for any period of time. i can't even afford my own place to live.

Probably like 10% of the working force are actually interested in their job, and they probably busted their ass like no other to get it. You don't seem like the bust ass type to get what you want, so worry about that later.

It's nut cuttin' time. You need to strap down, work your ass off, get a second job, make money while you are young, pay off debts, stop eating out, spending money on guns and wiis.

Do something. You mope around ATOT like you're going to slice your wrists at any time.

i busted my ass at my previous job and got as far as i could go there without having someone die or retire. i was well respected by my co-workers there for my knowledge and skill at that job. one of the reasons i left was because i got little respect or recognition from the management and many of my co-workers were idiots. so don't tell me i'm not the bust my ass kind of person.

i may not bust my ass as much at this job but there's nowhere to go either. i have no reason to. like i said, most of the time its like people don't even know i'm there.
