Broward: 117 more for Gore with 89% counted. The "old -- 2 corners minimum detatched" standard is used to derive these numbers. So they actually don't mean anything. The disputed ballots are held back for later evaluation. If anybody hears how many of these there are, please post.

Palm Beach: 3 up for Gore with more than 50% counted but only 20% certified? -- -- Democrats waiting 'til after Supreme court decision to deliver knock-out punch ??? I hear there's 1900 in the pile of "Questionable" ballots that the board will evaluate on Fri. or Sat. Looks like that's where the election will be won or lost.

I predict they will release revised numbers strongly favoring Gore after the Supreme court rulling on whether to count the pregnant chads as intended votes.

Miami-Dade: Gore up by 72 votes, 12% reported. If you project these numbers out, Gore gets 567. That's significant.

Democrats definately want to "bat last" (as in baseball) since they now know precisely what the target is. This way Miami-Dade can even change to a different count methodology AFTER Broward and Palm Beach results are in.

I can't keep this edited so enter the latest. These numbers (including quantity of pregnant ballots) seem to be hard to find so help me out and report the latest numbers here.

I have a question and this thread is as good as any to ask it.

In the counties that are doing the manual re count, are they counting the 19,000 votes that where set aside because of undercount or over count or hanging chad?

If so, would it be correct to assume they where not counted in the original machine recount, and then are likely to be counted in the manual re count?

Are we suffeciently confused now?

(I copied from another thread. I haven't recieved an answer yet.):p

From what I have gathered, those 19,000 ballots where double punched for president. MEaning they have to be thrown out. But i really dont know what the true story is.....

i just we could reach the "the end" in the story of the election. 3 recounts and gore is still losing...does this really need to go to higher court at this point.

It worries me a great deal to have the courts decide the results of an election.

All bets are off?
The 3 counties have changed the criteria they will use to determine what "is" a vote. "Pregnant chads" WILL now be considered as a vote or as the "obvious intent" of a vote. The numbers up 'til now determined using the old rule that 2 corners of the chad had to be detached.

I wonder why they waited until now to change the criteria? It couldn't be because the could project a loosing position, now could it? I also note that they have asked the Florida Suppreme Court to affirm their methology. They probably think that the Suppreme Court will state that determining "How to hand count a vote" is to be determined by each individual county election board -- as they had already stated. Then, with that issue already having been ruled upon, the Republicans couldn't challenge it again before the Florida Suppreme Court. Note that Florida has a determined past standards and has used them -- But what possible difference could that make? Voter intend is obviously above the law -- unless you are in the Navy, of course.

Sticky Wicket.

Expect these hand recount numbers to change now, perhaps fast enough to catch the Republicans off guard.

LOL. What a wonderful sample they did in Palm Beach. LOL its going to be a wash in Palm Beach Gore will not pick up over 600 votes over the three counties.

Can we start the impeachment proceedings or do we have to wait for a winner first?

I can actually see an impeachment hearing coming up, if another Woodward and Bernstein can crack this case wide open around the February timeframe. And I wouldn't doubt that either candidate has played some very dirty pool throughout all of this FL crap.

4700 Bush ballots in one of those counties is being challenged in court and could be thrown out for tampering by republicans. The next round in court is Nov 27th. The Reps tried to kill it today and lost. Seems a 4700 vote dent would give the election to Gore without any propblem.

But again, that's speculation. We are all guilty of that here.;)

It's interesting that other elections have gone smoothly, for the most part. Why is it that all of a sudden this insanely huge amount of ballots were thrown out in Florida, tons aren't be counted from other parts of the world, etc. I smell somethin' fishy.

The armed forces have usually voted Republican. Strange that they're voting for Gore, a man who wants to lower the number of people in the armed forces and spread them out even more than they already are, instead of Bush, who wants to bring them home --away from places that we don't need to be in.

If I were in the armed forces, I'd want to go home instead of twiddling my thumbs in guam...

You must have misunderstood something. The overseas absentee ballots went almost 2 to 1 for Bush.
BTW his lead would be approx. 1380 instead of 930 if 1400 Absentee ballots had not been thrown out.

Tripleshot - it is 4,700 request for ballots, as far as I can figure out. It isn't too well covered. I don't think it is actual ballots in question. I might be wrong here, details are pretty sketchy.

Updated the numbers, even though counting the pregnant ones (which hasn't started) is all that matters.
