My free evga high flow bracket came in so I thought I would gut the stock one and see what results I would get. 4c lower at 2% lower fan speed. This was letting Heaven 3.0 loop. The difference isn't as big as I hoped but there is a difference and it looks like Nvidia starts to throttle the core overclock at around 60c. You can see with the gutted bracket the core clock locks in at 1228. But with the stock bracket it bounces between 1215 and 1228 and sometimes dipping even lower.

No it isn't. He said he got his high flow on in, so he decided he would gut the STOCK one to see how it did.

Is there, or is there not a bracket on the graphics card in that image?
There is.
Is that, or is that not the EVGA high-flow bracket?
It isn't.

The way I understand him is, he got in on getting the free high flow brackets. So knowing he has spares to make his cards look / act correct. He hacked the originals with a dremel to eliminate all metal in the air flow area.

Lol, are you saying that you think the one pictured is the EVGA high flow bracket? I would die laughing if EVGA sent me something like that in the mail lol.

Look closely, the bracket is on.

Yeah reading comprehension issue on my end lol. I was looking for a pic with the eVGA high flow for some reason.

At any rate

Gutted = 4C drop? with lower fan speed
eVGA highflow = site says it only drops temps 3C...

Sounds like gutting is winnAr!

confusion removed.

A picture is worth a thousand words... color coded text is almost as good. :p
(I was never confused on this issue btw)...

So, as I asked earlier. what were the results when he replaced the gutted stock bracket with the high flow one?

What I said was he got the EVGA high flow bracket, so he decided to gut the STOCK ONE ( I even used caps in my original post) and see how it did.

What is so hard to understand here? Yes there was a slight typo where I wrote "on in" where it should have just been "in" where "in" means in his possession, not into the machine. But even at that it should be quite clear what I had intended to say.
