How time flies. My "brand new " computer have been already used for almost 7 years. I still remember the day, I picked up my HD 5870 from Frys. About 5 years ago, I feel my computer is too slow to boot up the windows, then I upgraded my HDD to SSD Crucial 256GB and I felt my pc is blazing fast again. I used to play Starcraft 2, Age of Empire 3, Rainbow 6 vegas and BF4 a lot, NFS, F1, Dirt, COD modern warfare, with max setting on 1080 resolution. Since then with 5870 and SSD and a i5-750 oc, I think my computer can play a lot of game for several years or even up to 10 years.
Becuase the work became more and more busy recent years, I do not have the intent to play the new game at all.
Just several weeks ago, I want to play some new games, like Ash of Singularity, Assassin Creed Syndicate and witcher 4, I felt my computer is slow, and too slow to tolerate and my 256GB SSD is not big enough too.
Then, I decide to spend around 500 bucks to make it fresh agian!
Here is my old setup:
Intel I5 750 OC 3.65Ghz
8GB DDR3 1600
MSI P55-GD65
Diamond Radeon HD 5870
Crucial SSD 256GB
POWER SUPPLY: Antec 550Watts

I do a lot of research from internet, and I found my CPU is still strong enough to handle the game, the only purpose I want to upgrade my computer is for gaming performance. Then I decide to buy a used 980ti or new 1070. At first I tried to buy a used 980ti lower than 300USD. But the eBAY used 980ti price is always at round 350USD, after a lot of out-bid, getting a used 980ti under 300USD was impossible, then I changed my mind, for the more future prove, I decided to buy a new 1070

And at the same time, I bought a new SSD from AMAZON. I have a very good exp with Crucial SSD, so I chose to add a 525GB MX300 to my computer too.
SO this is my after upgrade setup:

8GB DDR3 1600
MSI P55-GD65
ASUS ROG GTX1070 OC STRIX (449USD before 10% off discover card form Amazon)
Crucial SSD 256GB
Cruccial SSD MX300 525GB(120+ USD before 10% off discover card form Amazon)
POWER SUPPLY: Antec 550Watts

Then yesterday, I just occasionally found my new graphic card is about half inch longer than my old one. And my enclosure is just barely fit the old 5870, I need to change my enclosure too:oops::oops::oops: , then I spent 50 USD to buy a new enclosure from Amazon...

Cool stary, brah.

Post more please.
Thank you
I will install all the stuff into the new enclosure tonight(Its still on the way to my home). And install the 1070 later tomorrow(on the way to the home too...)
And will do the benchmark later. To see how much the improvement of the gaming performance in Ash of Singularity and Syndicate is:)

I wil try to use an i5-750 and 1070 to do the firestrike test, ashes of singularity test and AC syndicate, to see if the lastest generation of i5 or i7 is necessary for nowadays gaming

To get the highest min frames you should install the fastest speed ram your mobo supports. Along with your highest overclock.
