Restricted folder

I am having problems viewing, or for that matter getting in on the my documents folder of the c drive (running a dual hdd setup sience a faulty install of lindows crippled my good ol wd) but everytime i try to click on or get in it, it says it is restricted and am not allowed. I find this odd for the following reasons
1)Logged in as admin
2)wmp seemed to pull up some files with my playlist.

edit: yeah, what n0cmonkey said 😛

If you have WinXP Pro, open a Windows Explorer window, click Tools > Folder Options and disable Simple File Sharing. Now go to the Documents and Settings folder that contains your old your-username-here folder, right-click it, and choose Properties. Do what I've depicted in this picture, put a checkmark in the Replace owner box, and let it rip. Obviously you will want to give Ownership to one of your new installation's accounts.

If it's WinXP Home Edition, I heard that you must boot in Safe Mode to get at the Security and Permissions stuff. Can't confirm/deny that myself... anyone?

If I remember (and no one else posts about this) I'll try and verify that this weekend (my weekend).
