Restoring Software onto iPhone after jb/fact. reset.

Hi guys. I recently sold an iPhone 3GS to another member here. I had it jailbroken and cleared the data via a factory reset. Can someone point me towards a guide that explains how to put new software onto it? I'd love to help him out as much as possible.
