Ok folks, here's the problem. I switched my ACPI computer to "Standard PC" in device manager and everything was alright, then I installed IE 5.5 SP2 and then during installation it gave me a "please insert windows 2000 CD" and since I didnt have the CD, i chose cancel and it gave me a warning that using unverified files could cause hardm to the system and to please insert the CD to restore the original files. I didnt have the CD so I just clicked cancel and to use the new unverified files for something. All i remember is it mentioned CD-ROM errors could occur. Sure enough when i restarted the computer after installation, it froze everytime I tried to access My Computer and also CD-ROM drives for hardware installations. Since then, I changed back to ACPI but it still doesn't work. I made a mistake and I need to know if theres a quick way to restore whichever file it wanted me to in the beginining.
Thanks,
Chris
