I recently found some photographs from my parent's childhoods, but they're very faded and hard to make out.

I was wondering if the photographs could be restored? If so, where can I get them restored?

scan them at high resolution and touch up, adjust color/contrast/hue etc... on photoshop. its pretty easy to do.

yeah, there are places who can restore 'em..but it'll be much more cost effective for you to "fix" 'em with photoshop. any good photoshop book/manual will show you how.

I can tell from experience that this is hard to do, even for an experienced person like me. It can be done, but it'll take a lot of work, and professional places that specialise in this kind of thing do it way better. If you've got the negatives, get a scanner that can scan negatives and you'll be done in 20 minutes or so :).

Contact some local photography shops and see if they offer any kind of service for this or know anyone that does this.
