#@$!$@# restoring contacts back to my WM5 phone (deleted from outlook)

On my windows mobile phone all of my contacts were listed as lastname, firstname.. I was trying to reverse them and ended up screwing up my outlook contacts. I deleted my contacts (like a moron making no backup) and got sidetracked.

Today I synced up my phone.. I just went to call someone... ALL of my contacts are gone!! Instead of copying them back to my pc (like I assumed would happened) it synced my pc to the phone.. . poof no more contacts

Is there a recycle bin on these phones!? No!!!

Been there done that..Had over 300 contacts in my phone..All lost...Have been afraid to synch since..

Why aren't your contacts in the deleted items folder in Outlook? If you emptied your deleted items...uh...no one to blame but yourself. Also, if you're on an exchange server, you can restore them from your recently deleted items.

I didn't empty my deleted items and they aren't there.

No exchange server - all local.

I think I have them at home on my mce box.

My issue is WTF would it do that automatically? My palm will update the handheld and pc with changes - only adds things.... won't remove them.

When you sync it dates the changes.

You deleted the contacts and that was the most current. That is why outlook deleted them off your phone.

I actually sync with two computers and occasionally it get a little confused, but mostly it is due to me not understanding how it does things more than it is screwing up.

Palm isn't activesync. Activesync will synchronize any changes. If you removed them from outlook, it'll sync the changes to your phone.

Isn't there is a setting in that it asks you which to sync from and to if one is more more or different to the others? I'm not sure if this applies to Contacts though? I know this works with my calender on my WM5 phone.

But yeah hit 'should' ask you if you want to sync or not.
