Restoring .chkdsk files

Windows crashed and chkdks was able to recover files but how do i restore them to original format. The crash took out my apps, mp3 and jpg folders. Now i just have 2 "found" folders and numbered files with the .chk extension.

I can manually restore the files that i know based on file size, but is there a utility that will give me a history of the file in terms of date, author/company, app and type?.

I have thought about using Sys Mech Pro Search and Restore but have had mixed results. It only does partial restoration.

extensions are: zip,rar,avi,mpg,mped,mp3,rm,jpg

You don't.

Those files are scraps of data that could not be associated with a particular file or folder. If you can't get something useful out of the .chk files when you open them in notepad then they are likely useless to you.

Sorry 🙁
