restore partition?

i the main partition on my backup drive by accident. i havent done anything else yet. is there a way to access the files on it? thanks.
 
You did what to the main partition? If you just removed it by some means but did not reformat over it there are some utilities out there... I cant remember the names of the ones I tried... a lot of them are expensive but there are a few that have trial periods (or used to)

I tried this one and was able to see plenty of files that I had deleted. I don't know if they still have the trial. The trial I used was the one for the u3 usb devices...

Take a look around for file recovery software and you might find one that seems decent that is on a trial basis.
