restore a Windows drive

I was at work the other day fiddling with SAS and I wanted to restore the Windows hard drive to get it up and running like it was when I backed things up... I have done it before without any troubles using the windows software, but when I asked the person in charge of that server to restore the computer they said that it was too risky to do the entire windows drive... is this true?

Not that I know of. Did they create an image or something? As long as you realize that it will wipe everything out on the PC and put it back to the way it was when it was imaged, then you should be fine.

Was this a 'live', 'production' server that you were fiddling with?

The windows software your talking about...NT Backup?, depends on what you backed up when you did the backup.
