I want to make an image of my c: drive (operating system) and D: drive (profiles) that is completely restorable in the event my system crashes. I have Nero. Anybody have any input as to the best way to do this?

I plan to use either a DVD-+RW or a CD-+RW so that I can update the image from time to time. I would be nice if it was a bootable retore so that all I have to do is put in a new harddrive, put the DVD/CD in and boot to it and let it go. Is this possible?

Wow, I have Norton Ghost Version=2.0.2600.2. Not sure how or why it got on my machine. Any place a I can get some blow by blow instructions on the best way. I remember the last time I tried it I resored an entire drive instead of a partition and I lost everything on the extended partition. I want to keep that from happening again and as I remember I was confused because of how it labled things.

Doh!

Select the partition you want to back up. Run create an image. That's it.
