Restocking fee @ Dell Outlet? (My $271 dual core Netbook is now $30 cheaper w/big HD)

JEDI

Dell's 21-Day Return Period:
"Restocking Fees: Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of a Dell error, Dell may charge a restocking fee of up to 15% of the purchase price paid, plus any applicable sales tax. "

It says they may charge.

I bought a Dell 11z for $272 after coupon 18days ago:
Dual core Pentium 1.3ghz
160gig hd
6cell battery

Now they have this 11z for $242 after coupon:
Dual core Pentium 1.3ghz
320gig hd
3cell battery

double the hd and $30 cheaper! 😱

But does Dell actually charge the restocking fee? If they do, this makes the deal moot.

doh.. and approx how much is shipping the laptop back to them?

hm.. even w/o the restocking fee, this deal doesnt seem so hot anymore to me because of shipping? 🙁

Edit-
and here's the coupon (1500 uses):
5CSK5SF80C$2T0

Do you really need the extra capacity? I've seen some hot deals for 320GB notebook drives for $40. You can also spring for a faster drive, like a 7200RPM, hybrid or even SSD.

Keep the six cell battery.

Also, "may" is ambiguous. It could mean Dell MIGHT charge a restocking fee, or it could mean Dell RESERVES THE RIGHT TO charge a restocking fee.

Damn, the OP got me thinking about snagging a cheap 11z. Yesterday around noon there was still a LOT of them listed (maybe close to 100). I waited because I wanted to see what color the wife would like, but by late afternoon they were sold out. LOL, having multiple colors saved me money on something that I didn't need.
